Letter from May 22, 1981

Dear Theone,

Happy Late Mother's Day! Yes, we were thinking of you and Maurine can testify to the fact that I had this done on Mother's Day for you, but I have been waiting for someone to remember to bring some mailing cartons home. He hasn't been neglectful, just forgetful. I forget, too!

We enjoyed your nice letter and I'm sending a thank you note at the same time for the nice clothes. Jonathan looks darling in them. Cherie now weighs 7 pounds less than Jonny, but she is not fat. Jonathan is just getting skinny.

Kerry is fixing the car tomorrow.

Jonathan is forgetful on his potty training. Tonight I spent a 1/2 hour singing primary songs and telling stories about Jonathan. He likes to hear songs with actions.

Cherie did the cutest thing today. I didn't have any detergent so I put dishwashing soap in the washer (mistake). Needless to say I had soap coming out all directions and dripping down the washer. I was cleaning the living room, and looked down the hall and there was Cherie with a little white beard and white hands. She looked so silly.

Love,

Carolyn
