The Sea

A blue expanse outside my window
encompases all that I see.
Unknown qualities of glassy brilliance
beckon me to capture the sea

The sun fades into the sea
in pinks and purples spreading into sky.
I long to take the colors to my pallet
but nature has no substitute.

The smell of froth and salt and spray
overwhelms my senses
I watch as the children play
upon the sandy beaches.

God in his brilliance has made the sea
and lifts my heart to follow
the ever changing beauties of life
and takes away the cares of the day.
