Jonathan works for the Utah Opera and Symphony and asked us to stop by his work after we flew into Salt Lake on Friday. Kerry and I made that our first stop. We had the grand tour of the costume shop and place where the sets are built. We met the people in charge and found out that one of the big money makers for the costume shop is renting to other Operas in western Canada and the United States. We were able to see some wonderful creations and meet the artistic director who puts together the shows. After lunch Kerry and I headed over to the Conference Center where my Dad is a missionary. We had the grand tour with Albert, his girls, and Lilo, his new Canadian girlfriend.
That night was the Opera Regina. The Opera is based on the movie "The Little Foxes" with Bette Davis. Before going, we prepared by looking at some clips of the movie. Jonathan told me the story at Christmastime so that I would know a little bit about the Opera. John Miles, Kerry, I, and Kristen enjoyed the show, which was well done. We, along with the audience, felt like booing the bad guys and felt sorry for the good ones. I am looking forward to going again.
